About Bart Beals Law Firm

Bart E. Beals is a criminal defense attorney with a decade of criminal defense experience and a decade and a half of experience practicing law. He has exclusively practiced criminal defense the past nine years.

Mr. Beals was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago in an impoverished community where sometimes innocent people were accused and convicted of crimes. That inspired him to attend law school to see if he could help people that had been wrongfully accused. While at Howard Law School he served as the Book Review Editor on the Law Journal.

After graduating from Howard Law School in 2000 and practicing several years in two large firms in Washington, D.C. and Chicago, Illinois, he eventually started his own practice in 2006. He became a member of the CJA panel of the Northern District of Illinois Federal District Court in 2006. He is a member of the Illinois Bar, Washington, D.C. Bar, Northern and Central Districts of Illinois Federal Bars, Federal Trial Bar of Northern District of Illinois, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
